etfSA.co.za is the home of Exchange Traded Funds and is an internet based information and transaction website that provides simple and efficient solutions for investors wishing to discover, understand, manage and profit from the world of Exchange Traded Products.
 
etfSA.co.za provides a wide range of ETP related information and education, including a price ticker of ETP prices; product information and guidance on ETPs, including new products; client newsletters; current ETP news; fact sheets and performance and risk data for all Exchange Traded Products in South Africa.
 
etfSA Investor Plan
etfSA.co.za makes it easy for investors to buy, sell, transfer and switch one or more ETPs via etfSA Investor Plan. Investors who invest in ETPs through etfSA will have the investments administered by Automated Outsourcing Services (Pty) Ltd, an authorised Financial Services Provider (No. 650) who will register all ETPs owned by etfSA Investor Plan clients under the clients own name on the JSE/STRATE securities register. Investors may invest lump sum investments from as little as R1000, or invest with a recurring debit order starting from as little R150 per month. All ETP securities are registered in your name on the STRATE register and you have full title to such publicly listed fully negotiable ETP instruments.
 
etfSA Retirement Annuity Fund

etfSA RA Fund is registered with the Financial Services Board (FSB) as a Retirement Fund (Registration No. 12/8/38021) under the Pension Funds Act, 1956. 

etfSA.co.za is the founder and sponsor of the etfSA RA Fund. 

etfSA RA Fund has appointed an independent Board of Trustees to manage the etfSA Retirement Annuity Fund on behalf of the members of the RA Fund.The Trustees have appointed ResAM Financial Services, a FSB-registered discretionary FSP and asset management company (FSP No 40107) to act as the investment administration managers of the etfSA RA Fund.

The Trustees have appointed Multilect Administrators (Pty) Ltd to provide account and benefits administration of the etfSA RA Fund. Multilect is a registered Pension Fund Administrator in terms of Section 13(b) of the Pension Funds Act 24 of 1956.

The etfSA RA Fund offers three different balanced portfolios with the following risk profiles:

  • etfSA Wealth Conservator Fund (CPI +3%) - low risk
  • etfSA Wealth Conservator Fund (CPIs +5%) - moderate risk
  • etfSA Wealth Enhancer fund (CPI +7%) - higher risk

All portfolios are Regulation 28 compliant at all times.These etfSA RA Funds offer a unique exposure to only Exchange Traded Products in their construction.

 etfSA Living Annuities
The etfSA Living Annuity is an investment-linked annuity product, underwritten by Prescient Ltd. 

The etfSA Living Annuity can be purchased with a retirement benefit (capital from a Pension, Provident, Preservation or Retirement Annuity Fund) or with a transfer from another Living Annuity. 

The three etfSA RA Fund balanced portfolios, plus an equity only portfolio, the Wealth Maximiser Fund (CPI +10%) are offered, for the investment of retirement benefits. Investors in the etfSA Living Annuities have full choice of the portfolios, or a mix of the etfSA LA portfolios, they wish to invest in. 

They can also choose, on an annual basis, the percentage or rand amount of capital they chose to draw income from the etfSA Living Annuities. 

The etfSA Living Annuities offer a unique exposure to only ETPs in their construction, are completely transparent and liquid and are extremely cost effective.

 ETF Tax Free Investment Accounts
We offer two portfolios of ETFs, an income only portfolio and an equity only portfolio, or a combination of both, that give the full benefits of tax free investment accounts. 

These are ideal investments for first time investors, for minors, for other long-term investors of capital and for prudent investors who wish to build up capital, in a tax free environment. 

Computershare (Pty) Ltd is a registered Financial Services Provider for administration services, as well as offering transfer securities and custodian services. 

Computershare is the administrator of the ETF Tax Free Investment Accounts.

 etfSA Portfolio Management Services
ETFSA Portfolio Management Company (Pty) Ltd Registration No. 2012/019954/07), offers a bespoke portfolio management service to individual and institutional clients, who wish to have a unique portfolio of investments to meet their own particular investment or risk requirements. 

This service is offered through ResAM Financial Services (Pty) Ltd (Registration No. 2006/001083/07), which has a Category II FSP license (FSP No. 40107) to offer asset management, financial advisory and intermediary services, issued by the Financial Services Board. 

This wealth management service designs portfolios to suit individual requirements and uses only ETPs in portfolio construction. Passive only portfolios access a wide range of assets and enables the etfSA Portfolio Management Company to deliver a particularly low cost, but typically high investment return portfolios that few SA investment companies can match.

etfSA.co.za is owned and managed by M F Brown, a registered Financial Services Provider (FSP License No 39217) and its Managing Director is Mike Brown who was one of the top economists in South Africa. Mike Brown also worked as Chief Economist of the Chamber of Mines in the 1970s and early 1980s. Nerina Visser is an independent ETF Strategist and Advisor, offering consulting services to the investment industry, financial advisors and private individuals with a specialist focus on Exchange Traded Products, benchmark indices and quantitative rules-based structured solutions. She is a director of the etfSA Portfolio Management Company where she oversees the management of specialist investment portfolios of Exchange Traded Products for a broad range of clients - from large institutions, retirement funds and trusts, to private individuals. 

She serves as Vice President on the board of the CFA Institute South Africa Society and is a member of the JSE Issuer Regulation Advisory Committee. She also serves on the Editorial advisory Committee of the Collective Insight publication and is a pension fund trustee. She is a regular market commentator on media channels such as CNBC Africa, Bloomberg, Business Day TV, SABC and SAFM, and a seasoned speaker at conferences, seminars and workshops, in South Africa, throughout Africa and on the global stage. 

Nerina holds a B.Sc. degree in Mathematical Statistics and Applied Mathematics from the University of Stellenbosch, an MBA degree specializing in Finance from the Stellenbosch Graduate School of Business and is a CFA Charter Holder. Some of her accomplishments include being recognized by the Financial Mail in their Analyst of the Year awards in the categories of Quantitative Analysis, Risk Management and Innovative Research, including the top rate quants Analyst in 2006. 

In 2010, Nerina was recognized by CEP Magazine as one of the Most Influential Women in Business and Government in the Financial Services (Banking category) in South Africa.

Nerina is the former Head of Beta Solutions and ETFs at Nedbank Capital where she was responsible for all beta-based products and solutions, including Exchange Traded Products, benchmarks, custom indices and quantitative rules based structured solutions. She was the Managing Director of Nedgroup Beta Solutions (Pty) Ltd, an FSB approved Collective Investment Scheme issuer of the BettaBeta range of Exchange Traded Funds, from its inception in 2009 to the end of 2014. 

She joined Nedbank Capital in 1999 as a Quantitative Analyst in the Research Division of the institutional stockbroker. Prior to joining the Nedbank Group, she honed her skills as a Quantitative Investment Specialist on the institutional buy side at Old Mutual and in the corporate mining world at BHP Billiton, as well as in the bond and money markets at Securities Investment Bank (now part of Investec).
